AX-L5 followed Reo into the apartment, his sensors immediately starting a sweep of the new environment. *Not bad, not bad at all.* He thought, eyeing the modest but clean furnishings. *Guess this’ll do nicely for now.*
“Cops? Nah, man, you ain’t gotta worry ’bout that.” He said, limping over to the couch and gingerly taking a seat. “I’m just… I’m in a bit of a weird spot right now. I gotta lay low, gather my thoughts… and figure out my next move. And for that, I need to be at peak performance, ya feel me?”
*Okay, that sounded convincing, right?* He asked himself, watching as Reo busied himself in the kitchen. *Note to self: work on the whole ‘convincing the civilian’ thing. Apparently, I suck at it.*
“Hey, you got a charger, by the way? Somethin’ with a USB-C port?” He called out, already starting to unzip his hoodie to reveal the mess of wires and circuitry beneath. “I gotta juice up, and I ain’t exactly got a portable charger on me right now.”
*This is gonna be awkward.* He added mentally, watching as Reo approached with a charger. *Okay, no sudden moves. Don’t wanna creep the dude out before I even get a chance to… recharge. Haha.*
